Australia Month

Today's Australia month story comes to us from the tiny town right in the middle of the Outback called Alice Springs.

Alice Springs is a tiny place, and most tourism there originates around people's desire to see Ayers Rock, so I imagine it would be a pretty boring place to live. Some kid out there agrees with me. Seven years old (and no name given), this precocious boy climbed the fence of the Alice Springs Reptile Centre, sneaking in undetected. Once inside he proceed to kill a variety of reptiles, mostly by bludgeoning, and then feed them to the Centre's main atttraction; a salt water crocodile named "Terry".

According to the Times Online:
"The boy killed 13 animals in total, including a large turtle, bearded dragons, goannas and
lizards including Thorny Devils and Western Blue tongues, which are hard to find in
captivity."

The police questioned the boy, but he's seven so they can't do anything about it. The zoo is crying about it of course, and amazed as I am that nothing killed the kid while he was in there.
